I use a twitter widget on my home page to keep my clients informed of work status and put a few plugs in etc.

Some of my clients now follow me so thats great and its a quick way to get simple messages across about my portrait services and genealogy This is your Life books etc.

How do others gain from Twitter? Do you have a strategy

I am using Twitter. I have different accounts on Twitter. Some of them are personal and some are for business purposes. The best strategy for Twitter is to seperetae Business theme from personal theme. Do not mix your messages. It will work better.

I just advised a client of mine to twitter his daily specials every morning and tell his clients to follow him. The ease of use, and easy access anywhere via phone to Twitter updates should increase his client flow during the day.

Twitter is a great tool but it needs enough knowledge to be able to use it as a perfect tool in our business. It needs we study and research. Like all other social networking tools, Twitter can be useful or harmful. If we use it in a right way, it will generate us business, otherwise, it could be a very dangerous tool that will affect our business badly.
